SOLITUDE

A new interview has been posted on tumblr done on Radar magazine. The most, well, "interesting" detail is Kevin Parkers description of the upcoming Tame Impala album as "It's like Britney Spears singing with The Flaming Lips". This being a Tame Impala fan site I'm biased but honest, it's at least a little concerning I'd say for a lot of fans. I still expect the album to be excellent but after news that it was a departure from Innerspeaker as well as other previous work and this description, it seems quite impossible to know what to think.

Kevin Parker is extremely talented to say the least so he still deserves quite a lot of faith to deliver a great album. But I can understand Tame fans being worried, however at the same time Parker saying a comment such as "It's a combination of nice sugary pop crossed with really fucked-up explosive cosmic music" sounds interesting. Parker is also playing a vast majority of instrumentals just like Innerspeaker as well as writing and working with Dave Fridmann (Flaming Lips) for engineering the record.

The news lately will definitely be devisive with Tame Impala fans but we luckily don't have that long to go for the summer release of the sophmore album.
